 2023 Grand Chamber Awards open for nominations



The highly anticipated Grand Chamber Awards (GCA), an annual event hosted by the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), is set to take center stage with its awarding night scheduled on November 29, 2023 at Marco Polo Plaza, Nivel Hills, Cebu City.
The GCA is an annual activity of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry to recognize and honor exemplary business leaders, individuals and institutions who contributed to the economic growth and development of the Cebu and its people.
The 2023 GCA will present six highly coveted awards, including the Entrepreneur of the Year Award, which recognizes leaders who have nurtured and sustained world-class businesses for at least a decade. The Socially Responsible Entrepreneur Award pays tribute to those who have made societal benefits and sustainability fundamental aspects of their business practices.
Additionally, the Young Entrepreneur of the Year recognizes the business leaders who are at least 35 years of age however has founded and prospered the business, while the MSME of the Year Award selects from outstanding micro-small and medium business leaders with an annual gross sales do not exceed 60 million pesos, acknowledging their exceptional contributions to the business landscape despite their modest size.
Furthermore, the Countryside Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizes entrepreneurs located outside the Tri-cities of Cebu and created employment opportunities within their local communities, making significant contributions countryside development, while the Technopreneur of the Year Award shines a spotlight on entrepreneurs who have exhibited exceptional leadership, creativity, and influence in the realm of innovation and technology entrepreneurship.
To qualify for nomination, candidates must be a good standing member of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and hold positions as owners, founders, CEOs, or COOs with primary responsibilities for their company's performance, both historically and in recent times. Furthermore, the candidate's company should have operated for a minimum of three (3) years.
Submission of Nominations is until September 15 (Friday).

Signed on April 27, Memorandum Order 32 (MO 32) promotes the distribution of yet unnamed biofertilizers to rice farmers nationwide, in place of inorganic urea. Farmers' groups reaching out to Marcos's office expressed fears that the government project could put their crop yields and potential income at risk.
